This family with 2 small children had aged out of their playroom and were looking to better define their space for work & homework as well as overflow room for food and seating when hosting friends & family. The mudroom and entryways just needed some small changes but with big impact on storage & a focus on hospitality reflective of the homeowners' own outgoing personalities.
With smaller room footprints, we knew we needed zones in each room to do double duty. The style we worked in was a little French country & some Nantucket coastal. The spaces are bright and happy just like this wonderful family! Even the dog got her moment in the spotlight !
MUDROOM
Proving small spaces can be mutlifunctional and welcoming all at the same time. Bins make it easy for kids & parents to stay organized with personal items ready to grab when entering & exiting for the day's events.
MUDROOM
Hooks & vanity mirrors are a must for one of the busiest rooms in any house.
MUDROOM
A folding table to match the built-in-bench adds warmth and gives additional space as a drop zone for bags & mail when entering from the garage.
ENTRYWAY
Grounded with a new rug and large mirror befitting a 2 story foyer. The bench and entry console are perfect for guests to transition and the bench even has hidden toy storage for the kids. Whimsical pictures of the family pet reflect their desire to enjoy a fun life together.
ENTRYWAY
A welcoming and inviting space for guests entering their home.
SUNROOM
Cohesion of style between adjacent spaces & maximizing traffic flow between rooms was essential. The ottomons got a facelift and now double as hidden filing as well as extra seating for guests. Light fills this room all day long.
